David Thomas Dean
David Thomas Dean, 24, was held at the Marion County Jail in Ocala, Florida. The Sheriff's Office said corrections officers found bed sheets wrapped around his neck in his two-person cell, and that he was taken to Munroe Regional Medical Center, where he died the next morning, October 9, 2008. The Sheriff's Office described the death as an apparent attempted hanging and turned the investigation over to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Cause of death, as reported: Died by suicide. The Sheriff's Office says Dean apparently tried to hang himself in his cell, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement took over the investigation.
