David Smith
David Smith, 51, of Unity, died on May 14, 2020, after being held at the Somerset County Jail in Madison, Maine. According to Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster, he was found alive after a suicide attempt inside the jail and died later at a hospital in Bangor. The sheriff said corrections officers did everything possible to help him. The Maine Department of Corrections and the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit are investigating the death.
