David Scudder
David Scudder, 73, died on January 16, 2021, while held at Hyde Correctional Institution in Hyde County, North Carolina. According to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, he tested positive for COVID-19 on January 6, was taken to a hospital on January 10, and died there, and the agency gave COVID-19 as the cause. The state's announcement of the death did not name him at the time.
