David Paul Weinstein
David Paul Weinstein, 54, died on April 30, 2014, when a suspected natural gas explosion destroyed the lower floors of the Escambia County jail, where he was being held. Two people held at the jail were killed in the blast, and Weinstein was one of them. The cause was still suspected rather than confirmed when the Pensacola News Journal reported on it on May 5, 2014. A service for him was scheduled in Brandon, just east of Tampa.
Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined. A natural gas explosion was suspected, and no official ruling on the death was reported.
