David McKinley
David McKinley, 29, died in September 2017 at the Massachusetts Alcohol and Substance Abuse Center in Plymouth, a former minimum-security prison run by the state Department of Correction. New England Center for Investigative Reporting data, cited by WGBH, recorded his death as a suicide by hanging. Prison advocates later questioned whether people with substance use problems should be housed in a jail-like setting.
