David Keith Brickey, 40, of Florence, Oregon, died on May 8, 2017, after a struggle with officers at the Florence jail as he was being released from his cell. He was taken to a Florence hospital and died the same day. The Lane County District Attorney, citing a preliminary autopsy, said he had an enlarged heart and severe arterial blockage and no injuries that would have killed him, and that he may have died of a heart attack, though the final cause had not been determined.
