David Gunther
David Gunther, a man from Randolph County, died while held at Bertie Correctional Institution, a state prison in eastern North Carolina. The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction said investigators believe he took his own life. Staff found him unresponsive in his cell. The department's account is the only claim in the report so far.
