David Damits
David Damits, 72, was found hanging from the top bunk of his single cell at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga early on a Saturday morning, February 25, 2017. The San Bernardino County sheriff's office said it was an apparent suicide. He had been transferred from Los Angeles on February 17 to a jail-based program for people found mentally incompetent to stand trial. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
