David Carver
David Carver, 34, died on December 27, 2016 after being shot at the Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange, where he was being held. Authorities said he had taken a nurse hostage using a homemade weapon, and that a member of the Correction Emergency Response Team shot him after he moved toward the team. Kentucky State Police said troopers had tried to negotiate for about two hours before the team went in, and that the nurse was not hurt. He died at Baptist Health, and State Police are investigating the death while the Department of Corrections reviews how the hostage situation happened.
