Darshaquise Duran, 28, was an aspiring musician, and his mother Thelma described him as caring, loving and compassionate, with many dreams. He was held at the 4th Avenue Jail in Maricopa County, Arizona, when his cellmate allegedly attacked him on December 29, 2024, and he died at a hospital on January 2, 2025.
