Darrell Parks
Darrell Parks, 62, was held at a New Jersey state prison in April 2020. His sister, Trena Parks, described him as always happy, a good person who loved to fish, dance and spend time with his family. She says he had a compromised immune system and was not moved out of harm's way as coronavirus reached the prisons. Staff found him unable to breathe on April 8, and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died less than two weeks later.
Cause of death, as reported: Died of illness (neglect alleged). His sister says staff did not move him out of harm's way as coronavirus reached the prison, despite his compromised immune system.
