Darrell Edward Payne

Darrell Edward Payne, 49, died early on July 9, 2015 at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution. The Idaho Department of Correction said he died of a long illness and that staff pronounced him dead at 5:05 a.m. According to The Spokesman-Review, prison officials said he had recently decided to stop seeking treatment for a chronic illness they did not name, and a guard found him unresponsive in his cell in the prison's medical unit during a routine check.
