Danyiel Mager
Danyiel Mager, 46, of New Richmond, Wisconsin, was a good person who fought addiction for years, her sister Debi Mager said, and her obituary describes her as a talented artist who loved gardening, sewing, her pet ferrets, and her son, Gavin Bird. She died on July 25, 2021, at the St. Croix County Jail, the day after she was moved there from hospital observation. Deputies found her not breathing in her bunk that Sunday morning. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's autopsy found no traumatic injuries and fluid in her lungs, along with small amounts of methamphetamine, amphetamine, fentanyl and norfentanyl, but could not determine a cause of death. The sheriff said he was surprised so few answers were available, and her family continues to seek them.
Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office could not determine a cause of death, though its autopsy found small amounts of methamphetamine, amphetamine and fentanyl, bilateral pulmonary edema and no traumatic injuries.
Reported by: Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office (medical examiner or coroner).
