Danny Morgan

33 years old · died January 14, 2026 · Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex, Greenup County, Kentucky

Danny Morgan, 33, was held at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex, and his father, Samuel Morgan, says Danny coughed up blood and grew weaker in the months before he died, and that medical staff dismissed his symptoms. Another account says Morgan repeatedly asked medical staff for help. He was taken by ambulance to Saint Claire Medical Center in Morehead, where he died on January 14, 2026. Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt said he died of a gastrointestinal bleed, and the family attributes his illness to endocarditis, but the state medical examiner has not yet determined an official cause. His father disputes the claim that Danny was not already dying before reaching the hospital.
