Danny Mateo
Danny Mateo, 44, was held at York County Prison in York, Pennsylvania, in May 2020. His family says he was a hard worker, a good provider and a loving father of nine children, and that he had been a football star at William Penn Senior High School. His sister Dulce Simmons says he repeatedly asked for medical care for stomach pain over several days and was not seen by medical staff for about three days. He was taken to York Hospital on May 1 and died there the following Monday, May 4, and the York County Coroner, Pam Gay, has said the cause and manner of death remain open pending further testing.
