Danny Aguilar
Danny Aguilar, 47, died on August 18, 2026, at California State Prison, Sacramento in Folsom, after another person held there attacked him. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said staff fired less-lethal rounds to stop the attack, and that a physician pronounced him dead around 10 a.m. in the prison's treatment area. CDCR has classified the death as a homicide, and its Investigative Services Unit and the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office are investigating. A week before his death, the prison had already seen another homicide investigation, according to KCRA.
