Daniel Sisson
Daniel Sisson, 21, of Cardiff by the Sea, died in 2011 while held at the Vista Detention Facility in San Diego County. His parents' federal lawsuit says he had an asthma attack during drug withdrawal and was left untreated. The lawsuit alleges that deputies walked past his cell without the required checks and ignored his cellmate's written pleas for help. In 2014 a federal jury awarded his parents $3 million.
