Executed
Daniel Robertson
Daniel Robertson was a carpenter. He was hanged in Bristol County, Massachusetts, in 1894, which one source describes as the last hanging in the county. Quakers and others wrote to the court asking that his death sentence be commuted, but the courts did not act on those appeals. While held in jail he converted and was baptized, and newspapers covered the execution extensively. A historian later gave a lecture on his case.
