Daniel Patrick Murphy
Daniel Patrick Murphy, a 50-year-old man, died on September 5, 2026, at the San Diego Central Jail, where he was held in the custody of the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. According to the sheriff's office, a deputy found him unresponsive in his cell during a security check. He was pronounced dead at about 7:33 p.m. after paramedics and fire department personnel tried to resuscitate him. The Sheriff's Homicide Unit is investigating, and the Medical Examiner's Office has yet to determine the cause and manner of death.
