Daniel Palmer
Daniel Palmer III, 55, of Cottageville, West Virginia, was held at the South Central Regional Jail in July 2022. Jail medical staff evaluated him and sent him to a Charleston hospital on July 20, and he died there on July 21 while on life support. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said he had long-standing health problems that worsened, and that his death was most likely from natural causes. His attorney and guardian ad litem said he was in poor condition and non-responsive, and that they would look into whether an undiagnosed medical condition affected him; the cause of death has not been publicly released, and state law limits autopsy information to relatives and law enforcement.
