Daniel Lucas
Daniel Anthony Lucas, 37, was put to death by lethal injection on April 27, 2016, at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison near Jackson, state prison officials said. His lawyers asked the state Board of Pardons and Paroles for clemency, arguing that he grew up with parents who fought, abused drugs and alcohol, and abused him, and that he struggled with drug use from his teens. They said he had been a model prisoner on death row, had sought to atone, had found faith in Buddhism, and had mentored other prisoners.
Cause of death, as reported: Executed by the state. His lawyers asked the state Board of Pardons and Paroles for clemency, citing a childhood of parental fighting, abuse and drug use, and his struggles with drug use from his teens.
Reported by: Georgia Department of Corrections (the agency that held him). The only account of how this person died comes from the agency that held him.
