Daniel Lewis White
Daniel Lewis White was 69, and his sister Linda Bradley remembers him as someone who was good at protecting her; as children they went on Sunday visits to Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock and fed the geese at the pond. He was held at the Sebastian County Jail in Fort Smith and died there in July 2022, after about eleven days in custody. A local coroner attributed his death to bronchial pneumonia, while the death certificate lists a serious bacterial kidney infection, diabetes and heart disease as contributing conditions. Bradley learned of his death from a police officer, and jail records conflict on his weight and on well-being checks made after his body was removed from his cell.
