Daniel L. Slavin, of Gibbs, Missouri, died while in custody at the Adair County Jail in Kirksville on November 24, 2024. Adair County Coroner Brian Noe pronounced him dead. The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control is investigating, and the cause and manner of death had not been determined. Autopsy results from the University of Missouri's chief medical examiner were not expected for at least two months.
