Daniel Gonzales
Daniel Gonzales, 31, died on the evening of Monday, August 27, 2018, while held at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison in Corcoran, California. Officials say he and another prisoner were attacking a third prisoner in a dayroom, and that guards fired projectiles before one guard fired a fatal rifle shot to end the fight. Officials say the third prisoner was taken to an outside hospital. The account of the guard's use of force is the officials' account.
