Daniel Ferrara
Daniel Ferrara, 49, of Ocean Grove, died at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, New Jersey, in April 2022. Prosecutors say another person held at the jail struck him multiple times in the kitchen area in the early morning, and that person has been charged. Reports differ on the date, with some giving April 16 and others April 17, and on the time he was found, which one account put shortly before 5:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at 6:03 a.m. The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and the Sheriff's Office are investigating the death, and the circumstances remain under review.
