Daniel Drake
Daniel Drake, 42, of Steubenville, died on October 18, 2023, while held at the Jefferson County Jail in Ohio. Sheriff Fred Abdalla's office and Prosecutor Jane Hanlin's office say his cellmate killed him, and the cellmate was indicted for murder in February 2024. County officials did not release information about his death until that indictment, and the sheriff released his name after speaking with his family, who are mourning him. The prosecutor's office said the investigation is ongoing and that nothing appeared to justify the attack.
