Damon Lee Jones
Damon Lee Jones, 35, of Port Arthur, Texas, was held at the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Sheriff Tony Mancuso's office said he got into a fight with another man held there on July 26, 2013, and was knocked unconscious with one punch. He was taken to a hospital in Lafayette and died a few days later, in July 2013. In March 2014 the other man was indicted on a manslaughter charge in connection with his death.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. Sheriff Tony Mancuso's office says Jones died of injuries from a fight with another inmate.
