Damien Billy Manley
Damien Billy Manley, 21, was being held in the Pender County Jail in North Carolina when a jail officer found him attempting suicide around 1:45 a.m. on August 1, 2012. Staff began medical care and called EMS, but he was pronounced dead at the scene around 2:30 a.m. Sheriff Carson Smith said the death was a suicide and asked the State Bureau of Investigation to investigate, and an internal review was also underway.
