Dameion Nolan
Dameion Nolan died in May 2019 while held at the CoreCivic-run Whiteville Correctional Facility in Tennessee, where he had been for about 13 years. His aunt, Kayla Cherry, said he was tortured and stabbed to death, and that she learned of his death from another person held there after repeatedly trying to reach prison officials. At a news conference she held up a blanket with pictures of him and said she still does not know what happened. CoreCivic and state corrections officials said the death remains under investigation and declined further comment.
