Dallas LaTender, 37, died of an overdose on December 23, 2023, at the Menominee Tribal Jail in Neopit, on the Menominee Indian Reservation. Tribal officials said staff gave him Narcan, but he could not be revived. His mother, Carrie Delabrue, said she thought her child would be safe in jail and wants changes so no one else has to go through this. The family said they learned of the overdoses through other people, not from jail staff, and they want a full investigation.
