Daitrez J. Birch
Daitrez J. Birch, 24, was found in his cell at the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility in Wichita on the morning of February 26, 2025. The sheriff's office said deputies and on-site medical staff attempted lifesaving measures until Wichita Fire Department members arrived, and he was pronounced dead at 8:55 a.m. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation was notified and is assisting with the investigation. It was the third death at the facility that year.
