Dad Burch

Dad Burch was being taken by officers toward Buffalo, Wyoming, in October 1892, according to a newspaper account published that month. A group took him from the officers near Bonanza and shot him. A coroner's jury found that he died at the hands of parties unknown. The account also reported a rumor of a party of angry men searching for those responsible, and it does not say how the officers responded.
