Curly-headed Jack

Curly-headed Jack was a Modoc man. The Marshall County Republican reported in June 1873 that he shot himself while the Modocs were being removed from the Tule Lake peninsula to Fort Klamath, and that he died afterward. His death came during that removal, and the newspaper attributed the account to the reporting of the time.

Cause of death, as reported: Died by suicide. The account says he shot himself while the Modocs were being removed from the Tule Lake peninsula to Fort Klamath.
