Crystal Page, 41, of Horry County, died on June 5, 2023, after she was found unresponsive in a cell at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, where she was held. Staff alerted medical personnel, and she was taken to the emergency department at Conway Medical Center, where she later died. The detention center said no foul play was detected and that the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division responded, as is protocol. The Horry County Police Department is investigating, and an autopsy was scheduled for that week, with the cause and manner of death not yet determined.
