Cristian Rivera-Coba
Cristian Rivera-Coba was 22 years old, and his mother, Obdulia Coba, described him as a charismatic, kind and caring young man who loved to draw, play guitar, listen to music and skateboard. He died on July 21, 2023, about three days after being booked into the Anoka County Jail in Anoka, Minnesota. His family was told through an intermediary that he died of water toxicity, a cause that advocates question given how he could have drunk so much water in a short time. The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office is investigating, and as of September the county had not received toxicology or autopsy reports. A vigil was held for him at George Floyd Square.
