Coryell Derrick was 45 years old. He had been held at the Madison County jail in Alabama since July 2023, and late on Tuesday, September 5, he was found dead in a cell by himself in the jail's infirmary. The sheriff's office said he had a sudden medical emergency and that there were no signs of foul play. An autopsy was pending.
