Cory Willis
Cory Willis, 29, was held at the Doña Ana County Detention Center in New Mexico. On May 27, 2021, he was found badly beaten on the floor of a cell-block shower, and he was taken to hospitals in Albuquerque and El Paso, where he died. According to KFOX's September 2022 report, a jury convicted another detainee of the attack, which is the cause of death the verdict establishes. The name of the person the jury convicted is not part of this account.
