Cora
Charles Cora was held in the San Francisco city jail in May 1856 when members of the Vigilance Committee took him from the jail to the committee's rooms, where he was held alongside James Casey. The committee hanged him in public from its windows. According to a 1889 Richmond Dispatch account, Cora married his companion at his spiritual adviser's direction before he died, and the paper described him as meeting death calmly. A 1890 Los Angeles Daily Herald report describes the hanging from a second-story window alongside Casey.
