Conrad Schmitt III, 73, was serving a life sentence at the Potosi Correctional Center in Missouri when he died on May 6, 2025. He was pronounced dead at Mercy South Hospital, the Missouri Department of Corrections said. The department said an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of death, and that the manner of death is pending.
