Cody Short
Cody Short died in July 2026 at the Madison Correctional Center in Madison Parish, Louisiana. Correctional staff found him unconscious inside the facility, and the Madison Parish Sheriff's Office first said he had fallen and hit his head. Investigators later determined he was struck with a metal shank during a fight with another man held at the facility, and that he never regained consciousness. Another man has been charged with murder in connection with his death.
