Cody Joe Leger
Cody Joe Leger, 43, of Jennings, died on April 3, 2022, in his cell at the Jeff Davis Parish jail, where he was held, after going into distress on a Sunday afternoon. Chief Deputy Christopher Ivey of the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office said the death was a medical emergency and is believed to be related to Leger's medical conditions. He was pronounced dead at a hospital emergency room. The sheriff's office and the Jeff Davis coroner are investigating, and an autopsy was scheduled to determine the cause of death.
