Cody Bohanan
Cody Bohanan was 24. His mother said he struggled with depression but held a steady job, was named employee of the month at a restaurant in 2019, and was close to his grandparents. He died in July 2021 at the Butler County Jail in Ohio, five days after he arrived, while going through drug withdrawal; the autopsy listed dehydration due to withdrawal. His family and the men who shared his cell said he asked for help again and again and was never taken to the medical unit. His mother has said she wants no one else to die the way he did.
