Claude McKoy, 29, died on May 21, 2026, after being taken from the Harris County Jail to St. Joseph Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:56 p.m. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said he suffered an unknown medical emergency, and the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will determine the cause of death through an autopsy. The Texas Rangers and the sheriff's internal affairs division are investigating, and the death was reported to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards.
