Clara Edwards
Clara Edwards, 75, of Jacksonville, Texas, died on August 22, 2021, while held at the Cherokee County Jail in Cherokee County. According to the Tyler Morning Telegraph, jail staff found her unresponsive in her cell during a routine visual check, and EMS officials pronounced her dead at the jail. Sheriff Brent Dickson said he did not suspect foul play or COVID-19, and the Texas Rangers and the sheriff's office are investigating, with an autopsy planned.
