Cindy Schulz-Juedes
Cindy Schulz-Juedes, 68, died on July 19, 2023, while held at Taycheedah Correctional Institution, Wisconsin's women's prison in Fond du Lac. Correctional officers found her unresponsive in the cell she shared, and efforts by staff, police and fire and rescue to revive her were unsuccessful. Prosecutors say her cellmate killed her, and the criminal complaint and autopsy describe severe head injuries and dozens of rib fractures. Friends and advocacy groups, including EXPO and FREE, held a candlelight vigil in her memory and called for justice.
