Christopher Ramon, 43, died in his single cell at the Travis County Jail in Austin, Texas, on September 16, 2026. According to the Travis County Sheriff's Office, he was found unresponsive during a nurse's rounds that Wednesday morning and was pronounced dead at 9:51 a.m. The sheriff's internal affairs unit, criminal investigators, the Texas Rangers and the Travis County medical examiner's office are investigating. The cause and manner of death have not been determined, and the autopsy report is pending.
