Christopher Mendez
Christopher Mendez, 47, had a medical emergency on December 16, 2025, while held at the Harris County Jail in Houston, and was taken by ambulance to Ben Taub Hospital. He died there the next day, December 17. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the cause of death was unknown, and an autopsy was planned; Houston police are investigating under a state law that requires outside review of jail deaths, and the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will determine the cause.
