Christopher Lee Beck
Christopher Lee Beck, 42, of Port Lavaca, was held at the DeWitt County Jail in Texas. His wife and high school sweetheart, Stephanie Beck, said he had suffered for much of his life from illnesses related to scar tissue in his abdomen and had undergone surgery about six months earlier to address complications. He was found unresponsive in his cell on the Saturday night before he was pronounced dead at Cuero Regional Hospital shortly after midnight on October 1, 2019. A preliminary autopsy, as reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety citing medical examiners, ruled his death natural, caused by peritonitis from an infection tied to a previous surgery. The Texas Rangers investigation remains ongoing.
