Christopher Kelly, 42, died on December 26, 2025, in his cell at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, where he was being held. Corrections officers found him lying motionless during a routine check, and he was pronounced dead at the scene with apparent blunt force injuries. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say his cellmate, Chad Ollinger, strangled him and smashed his head into a bed frame, and Ollinger has been charged with open murder. Ollinger's attorney has raised concerns about his mental health, and a competency evaluation is scheduled for January 21. The Clark County Coroner's Office has not yet finalized the cause and manner of death.
