Christopher J. Parker, 33, died early on Sunday, February 24, 2013, during booking at the Spokane County Jail, after he called 911 that morning about a possible medical problem. Corrections deputies used a Taser on him and placed him in a restraint chair, and deputies reported finding him not breathing. The Spokane County Medical Examiner has listed the cause and manner of death as pending, and the Washington State Patrol is investigating. His mother, Christina Higgins, of Arkansas, said family members were not notified promptly and that she learned of his identity only shortly before a news release about 36 hours after his death.
